Jeffrey's Venture Concept 2.0

My product idea is essentially a coupon book and event calendar on your phone. It is an app. It is integrated with UF too, which means it becomes one’s sort of personal assistant in their pocket. The opportunity I saw here was that college is expensive and being a freshman I am doing a lot of things for the first time, whether it be trying out a new restaurant or going to a new class or building on campus I haven’t been before. This app is meant to streamline the college experience for freshman to graduate students. Also, many students are not in Greek Life so they have to find their own fun around the Gainesville and this app will help those students do that. The app will have an integrated event calendar for all of the student welcoming bars in Gainesville, so independents know what’s happening and don’t have to play a guessing game on the weekends. I believe this idea will work with the working adults in Gainesville with a slightly altered app landscape that does ...

Jeffrey's Final Reflection

The most formative experience of the class was definitely the workshop and having to make a business and then on top of that makes sales all within a week was a challenge. Finishing the assignment was the most accomplished feeling I got from this class without a doubt. After this I think I have started to gain an entrepreneur type of mindset. I look at the opportunity in problems now more than earlier. In order to perform your best in this course, you have to be consistent and go in with the mindset that skipping assignments will come back to haunt you in the future.

Jeffrey's Exit Strategy

At the moment, in my business plan, there is no exit strategy. Once I complete the full UF integration with my app and allow the student-campus relationship to become as streamlined as possible, I plan on moving to another university and doing the same thing. Each time I do this I will become more efficient with it and do it with less expenses to myself making the ventures even more lucrative. I want to give jobs to a lot of college students while also making local businesses more money. In the end once I have a plethora of schools integrated into the service I would look to sell to a much larger company like Google or Microsoft and retire at the ripe age of 28. This exit strategy has only made me work harder and faster because I want to retire with a lot of money early.
