Jeffrey Practicing Opportunity Identification, Cont.
- Economic Opportunity #1 - Recently the government ordered that gas stations are not be allowed sell fruity flavored vape juice cartridges. The economic opportunity stemmed from me watching the news and hearing my friends complain about the new rule. This opportunity can be taken advantage of by classifying the stores for the gas stations as vape stores or smoke shops
- Economic Opportunity #2 - Cryptocurrency at this time is not very fluid in terms of liquidating your shares and turning it into real cash. It still, however, holds value so I believe making a casino or any other business that deals with trading currency would be an extremely viable opportunity to make money. This opportunity came about through talking to my friend from Spain, who codes among other things. The use of cryptocurrency puts to use a non-fluid asset and it could perhaps turn into a credit card that - when you swipe - turns your cryptocurrency instantly into cash.
- Gov Opportunity #3 - There was a rezoning of Okeechobee’s land that increased the lands farming opportunity that eventually led to a red-tide. There is an opportunity in either finding a balance that would allow for increased sugar cultivation while not exceeding what would cause red-tide, or building a filter system that would prevent the red-tide. http://floridapolitics.com/archives/282884-sunburn-the-morning-read-of-whats-hot-in-florida-politics-12-14-18
- Gov Opportunity #4 - Student loans, since 2007, have been able to qualify for forgiveness programs that after a period of time allows the debtors to be forgiven fully if they display economic hardship. The problem is that very little people who qualify of the program actually know about it. I found this opportunity as I worked for a firm that worked with the economically challenged to get them into the program. The opportunity is in going to each and every college and telling the students and aiding them in signing up for the program.
Combating red-tide would e a fantastic opportunity both morally and politically. I really like #4- the only forgiveness opportunities I know about are for certain government employees and that's only after 10 years of paying off debt. Something you could improve o is providing a little more background on the opportunity and expanding on whether or not you think the opportunity would be difficult to achieve.
ReplyDeleteHey Jeffery,
ReplyDeleteI believe you accidentally forgot to add the three other links to their specific opportunities so we could read the detail on each particular issue. To your first opportunity belief I do agree turning the gas station convenience stores into a vape store would solve the issue of not being able to sell fruity vape juices. My only concern is would this change make them less profitable since they would solely be selling vape products.
Hey Jeffery
ReplyDeleteI can see where some people would be frustrated by the ban on fruity flavored vape juice cartridges. But I can also see why voting to have those types of products within reach of juveniles would be a tough decision to make. I have to say that I'm definitely in favor of keeping those types of products limited to designated smoke shops, and I don't think gas stations should be re-classified just because of one product. I think that should be based on sales. Gas probably takes the top spot. Definitely could have used some links.
