Elon 13A

Elon Musk
1      I was most surprised that Elon founded PayPal. I knew he founded Tesla and SpaceX but didn’t realize he started with the transaction app. I admire most that Elon’s work is guided by his want to help humanity and not greed. When he socializes, he sounds robotic. He encountered a lot of adversity with SpaceX as it took him 4 trials to successfully launch his rocket. Had he failed the fourth time, he would not have had the resources for a fifth attempt, so it was all or nothing.
2      He is extremely motivated and goal driven. It seems as though he is never not working.
3      I was slightly confused about his schooling, and how quickly he left Stanford.
4      I would ask him about school and what he thinks about my current track. I believe he could give great insight on what I need to do to be successful since he has been wildly successful himself.
5      I believe Elon enjoys hard work. Considering he runs several huge companies, I would say most of the work he does is hard.

  1. I was kind of surprised Elon Musk was on the reading list considering how much the our professor trash talks him. I'm wondering if the book presents any of the more negative views of Elon if only to address them. I didn't know he created PayPal either. I feel like most of the entrepreneurs on the reading list were/are hard workers. I read The Wright Brothers and they certainly were.
