What's Next For Jeffrey

1st Set of Interviews

summaries
I interviewed three college students. Two of them were independents – not a part of Greek life – and one of them was in a sorority. They all expressed interest the app, for many of the same reasons but all three had different favorite attributes of it. The first I interviewed really struggles financially and said the coupon book aspect of the app would be God-sent. The second said he constantly goes to Broward courts to play basketball but either no one is there or it is too packed. He wants to be able to see when he should go to get the most out of his time. The third one said she goes out a lot and spends a lot of money throughout the week and wishes she could know when and where to go out on a given night of the week.

Talking to these potential customers opened my mind up about the calendar aspect of the app being very important. Posting all of the deals throughout the week will allow the users of the app to be efficient in their social outings.

2nd Set of Interviews

For this set of interviews, I talked to two adults Wednesday this week in downtown Gainesville. I presented them the idea for my app and they seemed to like. Initially I was planning on marketing to only college students and allowing older people to use the app by their own will. Throughout the process I have changed my mind and look to make two different versions to cater to the two separate audiences.

The adults told me the idea was interesting and they loved that it would be very cheap to use. They claimed that the calendar would be the most fun to use as they normally stick to the same bars each and every week when they go out. One of them made a suggestion that with the calendar, to keep away from to much clutter that I could upload all of the events for the month and letting the customers opt-in to each bar they wanted to see on their calendars.

  1. Hi Jeffrey,
I think if you could really get every social opportunity in Gainesville, from basketball to clubbing, listed on your app then you would be creating something revolutionary for UF students. Right now the social events of Gainesville are just scattered across Facebook, Instagram and a menagerie of other websites. Having a centralized location where all of these events were posted would make a world of difference. It would save time and money for many UF students and enrich their quality of life.

  2. Good evening Jeffrey,
It's good that you have your target audience down to a T considering all the things people in your interviews wanted were things you said you would include. It's also nice that you want to expand your product to be available to a bigger market. I planned to do something similar. Cool product, hope it goes far.
